Cem Duruöz
Born in Ankara his music education began with Safa Gürbüz and Ahmet Kanneci. After winning the grand prize of Turkey National Classical Guitar Contest at the age of seventeen, he got his master’s degree from The Juilliard School in New York, studying with Sharon Isbin there. New York Concert Review Magazine describes Cem Duruöz as follows: “As well as being an accomplished guitarist, he is a successful arranger and an artist good at getting hold of his audience.” Duruöz has recently made recitals in Carnegia Hall and Weill Recital Halls in New York in addition to various concerts in festivals within many different countries including Argentina, Brazil, Greece, Japan and Peru. He also attended many concerts with Presidential Symphony Orchestra and Antalya Symphony Orchestra. At the moment he is giving graduate lectures in different countries and working as a lecturer of guitar techique and practice in the University of Wesleyan in the U.S.A.
