Oğuz Sırmalı
Oguz Sirmali born in Ankara in 1977, he became a student of M.Yalçın Davran after attending Hacettepe University Ankara state conservatory in 1997. By accepting the invitation from Leyla Gencer and a scholarship support from Turkish Ministry of Culture he entered “La Scala Opera”s academic trials in 2001 and advanced to final sessions. In year 2002, he won the Young Opera Artists competition organized by Professional Voice Association and in the same year with the special education scholarship support from Turkish Ministry of Culture he joined studies with soprano Katleen Lafferty in Florence. After completing his conservatory education with a third degree and the special prize of the Prof.İhsan Dogramacı Student Success in 2004, he then earned a scholarship from M. Daniel Ferro and joined the summer course in Italy. Covering the 2004 and 2005 season, he was seen on the stage for the first time in Izmir Opera and in the year of 2005, he joined the Ankara State Opera and Ballet and became a regular artist after passing the trials in 2007. 
 
The performances he was involved as solo artist can be listed as Carmen, Flying Dutchman, La notte di Nevrastenico, The Legend of Ararat Mountain, Özsoy, Madama Butterfly, Aşk-ı Memnu, A night in Venice, Rita, Tannhauser, Cambiale di matrimonio, Idomeneo, Der Zigeunerbaron, Ali Baba&40, Dracula, Lend me a Tenor, Gangster, Fiddler on the Roof. He initiated International Gaziantep Opera and Ballet Festivals and organised a singing contest with the Association of Graduates from State Conservatories for the memory of his teacher Prof. Yalcin Davran. So far, besides his artistic duty at Ankara Opera, he worked as the Coordinator of Institutional Communication and Press Department at the Directorate General of State Opera and Ballet. Oguz Sirmali, also an academician at the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, continues working as the General Coordinator of the Turkish State Opera and Ballet.
 
Until today, he has produced 2 music albums and singles, and most of his video clips have been widely featured in the written\visual media. He won the Special Jury Prize of Peace in the Turkvision Song Contest 2015, in which 32 countries participated.
