Begüm Tarako

Begüm Tarako was born in Istanbul as the daughter of the Gürhan Nafiz Tarako, the drummer of the unforgettable band Beyaz Kelebekler, one of the first music bands in Turkey.  With encouragement and inspiration she got from her father Begüm Tarako had a childhood nested in music. She learned to play various instruments throughout her upbringing and finally opted for the classic guitar. With the years of conservatory following the high school she set to her first composition experiences.  Then she suspended the conservatory to take part in various music contests and to perform as a vocalist with her guitar, in the meantime she worked on her compositions.  Entering the Art and Design Faculty of Yıldız Technical University in 2007 Begüm both proceeded her classical guitar education and worked as a guitar instructor. She completed her first solo album, in the alternative rock style. Consisting entirely of her own compositions the album includes songs which are the harvest of ten years of work and experience. Apart from the vocals and compositions Begüm took part in the production process of the album, working with other musical contributors both in the arrangements and acoustic guitar parts. The product of this process happened to be an album abounding with warm and frank sensations.

Considering she herself is not a very willful reader of biographies Begüm opted for a short biography…
