Cenk Taner
Born in Gölcük, Taner completed his high-school and university education in Istanbul where he currently lives. He started composing with the music band Kesmeşeker which he founded in 1990, during his high school education. With Kesmeşeker he released seven albums all the songs of which are written and composed by himself. Kesmeşeker has contained many precious musicians in itself and gave numerous concerts since its foundation. Such that the term “Kadıköy sound” has been coined with the inspiration they gave. Cenk Taner released his first solo album “İzin Vermedi Yalnızlık” in 2001 with the label of Ada Music. Now he is preparing to release his second solo album “Yoldan Çıkmış Şarkılar”. Besides the album, his new book “Özgür Olduğunda Marmara” will hit the shelves alongside the new edition of his previous book “Andıran Otu” (published in 2004) in November.
