She started her music career in 1969 with the 45’s album “Vefasız” (Unfaithful). She drew attention in a short time both as a singer and a composer-lyricist. In the seventies and eighties with her popular albums including “Ölsem de Bir Kalsam da Bir,” “Unutulur,” “Anlatamıyorum,” “Gider Olduk,” and many others she had a unique place in the emotional memory of the people. She became one of the marked singers of one period of Turkish Pop Music. Banu Kırbağ also bears the title of the first woman maestro of Turkey. She attained her maturity in every field of music giving numerous compositions to renowned musicians such as Nilüfer, Ayşegül Aldinç, Edip Akbayram Selda Bağcan and many others.
