Zuhal Olcay
After graduating from Ankara State Conservatory, she received her master’s degree from the department of Theatre in the same school. She worked as a stage actress in Istanbul, İzmir and Ankara State Theatres for ten years. By 1983 she began to take part in various TV productions. She first appeared on the silver screen with the film “Sönmüş Ocak.” Yet she won recognition especially with her roles in the TV series “Parmak Damgası” and “Gecenin Öteki Yüzü” in 1985. She received the Best Actress award for her performance in the film “Amansız Yol” in 1985. She also was deemed worthy of the “Avni Dilligil Theatre Award” for her performance in the famous play of Anton Chekhov, “The Seagull” in 1986. In 1989 when she was playing in the Evita musical, she drew attention with her successful singing performance. The same year she took part in the film “Dünden Sonra, Yarından Önce” in which she proved her success in music once more. Then a music career began for her during which she worked with famous musicians such as Onno Tunç, Mehmet Teoman, Vedat Sakman, Selim Atakan, Bülent Ortaçgil and Gürol Ağırbaş. She has released seven solo-albums up till now: Küçük Bir Öykü Bu (It’s A Little Story, 1990), Oyuncu (The Player, 1993), İki Çift Laf (Just a Couple of Words, 1996), İhanet (Betrayal, 1998), Başucu Şarkıları 1 (Songs of the Bedside I, 2001), Başucu Şarkıları 2 (Songs of the Bedside II, 2005), Aşk’ın Halleri  (The States of Love, 2009). Besides her solo-albums, she also took part in collective albums with important musicians. She has received many awards both at home and abroad, and has given many concerts across the country. She actively carries on her music and acting career with new projects.
